Narrow Escape in Oakville is a family owned company born from the love of fellow escape room enthusiasts. Their location is close to the QEW, easy to find, and lots of available parking in the business plaza. We loved the staff’s friendliness, openness and desire to interact with us about all things escape room related. There’s a nice lobby and board games area for those times you just don’t want to end the fun… Another great start!

Baker Street Mystery is the initial flagship room of Narrow Escapes and is presented well. The construction of the room and everything inside was top quality, with no visual distractions of unfinished areas or exposed wiring. The window blackout screen was visually noticeable and warm to the touch, but we completely understand that when one of the four walls in the room is actually a glass front to the building, there’s not much that can be done… Overall nothing spectacular, but definitely nothing poor.

The immersion was much the same as the room itself. The story is decent and is presented well at the beginning, but as always, we wish there was a bit more engagement and development of the plot. Where this room really shined was in the puzzles. Whether we were just having a good synergy day, or the puzzles were just attuned to our intuition, we felt incredibly involved, excited, and engaged at every point while solving puzzles. There are no obvious bottlenecks, and most of the puzzles were fairly inclusive even if they weren’t specifically team building by nature. One thing we also noticed was the use of real geographical and cultural references to London which makes us smile.

So would we recommend Baker Street Mystery? Yes! For whom then? Well the puzzles are of the moderate difficulty level and complexity, so we’d suggest you might want to omit kids or a team filled entirely with new escape room players. Aside from that, it’s a very suitable room for 3-4 players depending on how much engagement you want with the game.

Good room, immersive enough, and a lot of fun! My wife and I did this as our second room at this facility and had a great time. This room more challenging than the previous (claustrophobia) and while less our preferred style was still plenty to enjoy about the room. Decoration/Immersive qualities are fairly on point and keep you engaged in the story, though at times lost track of what the final goal was. Would recommend checking this place out for sure!
