Situated in an inconspicuous building located in a downtown adjacent neighborhood you’ll eventually find The Quest Factory. This huge warehouse-like structure is the home of three escape rooms including their newest addition The Knight’s Legacy (TKL). You are guaranteed to be greeted by enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff who are there to ensure you have a good time.

The Knight’s legacy breaks tradition by offering a smaller, less pricey escape experience allowing its players only 35 minutes to escape. During this time your party will be presented with the challenge of breaking free from a 15th century knight’s chamber. The sturdy props and thoughtful set-up of this room looks and feels authentic. However, the overall design fell short with the use of white walls – rather than stone – which caused the TKL to feel almost like a movie set. This small change could really make this room a more complete immersive experience.

In terms of puzzles, The Knight’s Legacy features a nice variety of moderately challenging tasks which all stay in line with the room’s theme. Although the room seems to have a linear intention, in-room clues are limited and in some cases not very helpful in directing its players. However, this room did keep all four of our players busy and thinking the entire time and appealed to our senses with its relevant design elements and music/audio clues. The very last puzzle desperately needs restructuring as the clue is virtually useless and the actual solution was randomly happened upon. We were able to escape with a few minutes to spare, but because the room is shorter than normal we were left wanting more.

This room can be attempted with 2-4 players. Beginners and older kids are likely to have a greater appreciation for TKL than your seasoned veteran. Post-game customer service is always awesome at The Quest Factory as the staff truly cares about how much you enjoyed your experience. After you escape you’ll be directed to a very cool photo booth area where you’ll have the opportunity to take pictures with a background relating to whichever room you choose. The Knight’s Legacy has only been open to the public for a month and with a few minor changes this room can be a great addition to their current selection of rooms.

Final Verdict:

7/10
