Escapade 360 is located in the Chicago suburb of Elgin.  This building was easy to find, with plenty of parking, and was located near a Riverwalk.  While there were plenty of restaurants and shops, many were closed on Sundays (we still found a nearby place to eat, and it even served ice cream)!  The owners were incredibly friendly and energetic, which made us even more happy and excited to start our room.  There was a large waiting area with great décor, and the owners dressed in-theme!

We had a video to begin our room, which was well-made and told us what our mission was.  The room itself was in-theme and had cool hidden surprises, but overall no major frills or intricate pieces of set design.  This room had only been open for a few weeks when we went, so there were some improvements to be expected with time.  We felt like we were really in a study or dining room, and felt the props were well-used.  While it did feel in theme, some of us wished there were more Sherlock props throughout the room.

There was great variety of the puzzles, no two were the same!  We saw one puzzle that we haven’t seen before, which is always exciting.  In terms of difficulty, this is a room for newer players. There were lots of cool puzzles and pieces to this room, so newer players will learn how different aspects of an escape room function.  Most of the puzzles had plenty of breadcrumbs to help the player understand what to do, but a few puzzles could have used an extra nudge.

Was it fun? Yes!  Keeping in mind that this is a newer room and a newer company, this was a fun room.  We had a great time searching and finding objects, solving puzzles, and making our way through this adventure.  Overall, this is a growing company with lots of promise!

Final Verdict:

6.1/10

Why so low when everything in your comments seem like you really enjoyed it and we’re having fun. Would indicate to me by your comments that it would have been a higher overall score.
