If you’ve ever read Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea or just love underwater adventures, this 5 Wits room is just the thing to sate your marine appetite without stepping off land. Located in Patriot Place near Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, this location boasts two unique experiences that are not like others of the franchise so throw out any preconceptions you may have of this company. Patriot Place is a large complex with plenty of parking and a variety of dining options and 5 Wits fits in with an eye-catching storefront and a spacious lobby with a gift shop and refreshments for sale.

You are escorted throughout your experience aboard the Nautilus, the submarine piloted by Captain Nemo, by a tour guide who helps to advance the story while sometimes steering you in the right direction. We were immediately impressed with the room; the set design is incredible with realistic props, moving parts, and highly detailed surroundings, and you will sometimes feel like you’re actually in an underwater vessel. Unfortunately, if you suffer from vertigo or motion sickness, there are a few effects that may make you feel nauseous so a word of caution for those who suffer in those situations as one of our team was unable to participate in the final sequence because of this.

The puzzles themselves will seem familiar if you’ve done other 5 Wits rooms and while they may not seem very advanced, they do offer a good variety of inclusive tasks that will have your group moving around and communicating with each other. They also fit in seamlessly with the environment and the story, adding to the immersion and moving you forward through the plot. This is definitely a family friendly adventure and people of all ages will be having a blast for the entire duration.

Overall 20,000 Leagues is a wild under-the-sea journey that will have your group laughing, thinking, and sometimes even screaming out in surprise as you make your way through realistic sets. If you’re in the area, or as a night out, this location is definitely one you want to visit.
