Located across from Downsview Station is Escape Games Canada, one of the GTA’s bigger escape room companies known for their impressive set designs. So when I finally got a chance to do Haunting Of Noriko, I was all in!

How was the experience? I really enjoyed the lobby and the pre-show video. I’m definitely a fan of companies who provide board games, snacks, and comfy couches in a spacious lobby before and/or after an escape game. This was slightly offset by staff who were inattentive and disorganized, but for the most part it was a nice start.

Entering the room was also a treat. The room quality and set design definitely lived up to the hype – words can’t express how impressed I was at entering an actual reconstructed Japanese house! Not only did this put the room quality rating over the top but it also helped the immersive feel of the game as we progressed through the mission. The puzzles were slightly better than average, but often felt out of context. One disappointment was our final puzzle wasn’t reset properly and left open from the previous participants (not a big deal, but definitely dampened that victory moment of knowing you completed the mission). Overall we enjoyed ourselves, and the storyline kept me engaged.

So would I recommend Haunting Of Noriko? Yes, very much so. Ideally this room should be done with a group size of 4-6 people in order to keep people actively engaged with the amount of puzzles inside.

As always, happy escaping!

Love this room, especially the immersive décor. The puzzles were smart and made you work for it, although being stuck on the final puzzle with our group of 4 for the final 24mins of the room did leave a sour taste in our mouths. I would highly recommend this room to an experienced player and for those looking for a really great immersive room that is just fun to play. I know the order of the puzzles has been switched a few times but I now have one type of puzzle I can without doubt say I hope I never meet again :).
