I‘m going to take a wild guess and assume most of you reading this review don’t have the 1.2 million dollars, nor the political connections to get yourself a trip to the International Space Station….so is that it? Are you stuck here on earth with the rest of us wondering what life could’ve been like on a futuristic space journey? No, there’s a way! Deep Space was my final room at 5-Wits and possibly my favourite! If you haven’t already done so, check out my Tomb review first to get more information about 5-Wits and the experience as a whole.

So what does Deep Space offer? For a sci-fi nut like me it provided the experience of a lifetime. The experience of being teleported, of being on a real space ship, and even the wonderful sense of panic when things go horribly wrong….and yes don’t worry techies you even get your chance to fix that blasted computer core issue! There isn’t a sci-fi movie experience you won’t get here (ok, you won’t turn into a fly, but otherwise you’re covered)!

The team building component is once again evident, and as mentioned the feeling of complete immersion is off the charts (I wonder if the ERA team would let me give it an 11 out of 10?) The only thing missing from this experience was the amazing pre-show effect that I had at Drago’s Castle, but this room doesn’t need it! It’s incredible on its own, and yes I am willing to proclaim it to be the very best escape/adventure room experience I’ve ever had! I truly couldn’t have imagined a better way of ending my day at 5-Wits.

Some 5-Wits staff debated with me which was their favourite room experience, which is great because it only goes to show that you simply can’t pick a bad room here. If you’ve wanted to live 30mins of your life being Indiana Jones, Tomb is for you. If you’re a spy in training and hope to run into James Bond one day, pick Espionage. If you feel like you were born in the wrong century and should be fighting dragons and saving kingdoms, then Drago’s Castle is for you. And as mentioned already, if Star Trek/Wars/Lord/Gate or any other type of Sci-Fi is your heart’s desire, then check out Deep Space. If you haven’t already planned your trip, take a couple days and head down to 5-Wits in Syracuse! You won’t be sorry.

As always, happy escaping!

Final Verdict:

9.5/10
