This was my third room of the day at 5-Wits. If you haven’t already done so, check out my Tomb review to get more information about 5-Wits and the experience as a whole.

The danger of course in doing more than 1 or 2 reviews in a day is ‘room fatigue’ (which most reviewers will parlay into comparing rooms, focusing on flaws, and generally forgetting to evaluate the room based on its own merits in the marketplace). So when I walked down the same hallway a third time, stopped in front of the door to watch a video for the third time, and heard the same safety policies for the third time, I was convinced I finally hit the point where 5-Wits would no longer impress me like it did in the first two rooms…

WRONG AGAIN! I loved this room! I don’t want to spoil the pre-room experience, but it is by far the best I’ve had! My jaw hit the ground and stayed there for most of the preshow! It took me a while to even figure out how they were doing some of the things they did which made it all the more impressive!

The story was great, the room quality amazing, and the fun team building aspect of this room put it over the top to become one of my favourite rooms of all time! Let there be no doubt however, that this room should be done after you’ve tried a couple of the other 5-Wits rooms. Why? Because this room has such a unique and incredible preshow component you wouldn’t want to spoil your perception of the other rooms by expecting the same (although they each have good pre-room experiences and customer service).

Drago’s Castle is thematic, well designed, and again, your team will feel completely immersed not only in the environment, but also in the team building that intentionally takes place. As mentioned previously in my reviews of 5-Wits, it’s also fun to see your score and how well you performed as a team. Again, if you haven’t already planned your trip, make sure you take a couple days and head down to 5-Wits in Syracuse! You won’t be sorry.

As always, happy escaping!

Wow. I somehow missed this review. I completely agree. That pre-show gig they have there is quite the experience itself. Loved all 4 experiences they had out there, even if I didn’t find them to be true escape room experiences. They were definitely super immersive and guided experiences, but great for adults and kids alike, I’d say. 🙂

Yes we agree there is a difference between a traditional escape room and an adventure room experience. This distinction seems to matter most to those who are seasoned veterans of escape and/or adventure rooms. There are also others who enjoy both for what they contribute to the genre (count the ERA team amongst those)! We’re glad you enjoyed the pre-show as much as we did – it truly is a one of a kind experience!
