This room was one of the first to offer some variety to the escape room experience in the GTA. Yes, you’ll find it’s fairly average in its puzzles and room quality, but De Triad does something that hadn’t been done before… You’re not competing against the standard 45-60 minute clock… you’re competing against another team (unless you choose the single room version, which you shouldn’t)!

The thrill of not only finishing the room, but also finding the secret hideout and arresting the bad guys before they escape? Incredible! For experienced players who, like me, get pretty bored of doing the same puzzles and opening the same locked boxes against the same 45-60 minute timer, this game comes as a refreshing change. Again, if you try this room make sure it’s in the competitive mode against another team. Our ERA team slightly differed on which side of the De Triad experience they liked more, but I preferred the investigators’ side. As for the pre-room experience, the De Code staff do an adequate job of making guests feel welcome with nothing noticeably great or horrible. Their board game cafe is spacious and a nice place to spend some time just before or after one of their escape rooms…

As always, happy escaping!
