Not far from one of Brampton’s busiest shopping centres, movie theatres, and restaurant districts is Perplexity Escape Rooms. Although conveniently located, you’ll have to keep your eyes open as Perplexity’s sign isn’t easily visible from the road.

What will you experience once you walk in? A well lit lounge with tables, chairs, a small selection of North American board games, and my personal favourite, a large, cozy, couch perfectly placed in front of a large screen tv! From there you can watch a movie, see some posted announcements, or even sing karaoke with those courageous enough to do so!

As for the room itself? This was my first time visiting Perplexity so I had no idea what to expect other than it being talked about as a fairly decent room experience. And like so many tried and tested truisms, this room’s reputation preceded itself accurately! At first sight Criminal Binds was fairly simple looking and nothing overly special. Although there was little in the way of ‘wow factor’ don’t let that fool you. This room’s strength comes from an impressively immersive and consistent experience right down to the smallest of details. Aside from one small mix up, our team enjoyed how integrated the puzzles and tasks were into the story and theme. Sadly it’s rare to have such good integration between puzzles and the overall room experience, but Criminal Binds does it well.

Now of course the real question is: Should you spend your entertainment dollars in this room? I feel pretty confident in saying yes try this room! Be aware the ideal team size for this room is 3-4 players (you could push 2 for extreme enthusiasts, or 5 for those that don’t want to be involved in all aspects of the room) but again it does have a small sweet spot for team size. If you’ve ever been a fan of the show Criminal Minds, you’re sure to enjoy Criminal Binds…

As always, happy escaping!

Final Verdict:
