Located in a popular mall in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, you’ll find 60 to Escape. Their location is easy to find, surrounded by many shops to visit, and it’s a quick walk to many food and ice cream choices – who doesn’t get hungry while escaping? While the lobby itself was minimal, only having 4 chairs and not a whole lot to do, what lacks in the lobby is more than made up for in the escape rooms themselves! We were greeted by a few employees as we walked in, and we instantly felt welcomed and excited to begin our adventure. The employees we talked to were so personable and friendly, the customer service was outstanding. We were also able to meet the owner who was so down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and genuinely excited about each of his rooms for different reasons. We couldn’t wait to get started.

The room begins with a short, interesting, and well-made video that tells you important information about the game and draws you into the story of the room. We felt instantaneously excited and ready to begin! The set looked exactly like you would picture a motel, and there was no difficulty feeling immersed in the story and setting. This room is their lowest-tech room, but still had technology throughout; the minimal technology is not a downfall, in fact, it was so well done, we didn’t even miss fancy technology.

The puzzles themselves all made sense and there was an overall logical sequence to completing the room and escaping. There were a variety of types of puzzles, and it gave something for everyone to do, look for, or try to solve. This room, in particular, fostered a sense of teamwork throughout our entire group and allowed for consistent communication; we love that in a room!

Was it fun? Of course, it was! Stephen and 60 to Escape have not let us down. These rooms are immersive, exciting, logical, and so much fun; Bomb Squad was not an exception to that; we had a great time working the room to deactivate the bomb and complete our mission.

Final Verdict:

8.4/10
