Mission Accepted offers five escape rooms on site as well as one mission that you can play outdoors around Tiergarten in Berlin using an iPad and GPS. We had the chance to stop a serial killer playing their newest escape room Blood Lust at their facilities at Europa Center near Kurfürstendamm. Europa Center is easy to reach by U-Bahn U1, U2, U3 and U9 as well as S-Bahn or train via the train station Berlin Zoologischer Garten. Mission Accepted is located in the basement; just take the escalators downstairs and walk straight. The waiting area is spacious and has everything you need: seating, lockers, and a restroom, and is nicely decorated with artwork of all of their rooms. The staff at Mission Accepted were super friendly and excited to have us. They explained everything we needed to know about the room to us and let us in on the background story:

You and your friends have just graduated from the police academy and you are trying to catch a serial killer. There have been multiple bloody murders in Berlin with no clue what the connection between the victims’ or the killer’s identity is. An anonymous call names the address of the killer’s hideout. You are about to enter this apartment to find the evidence you need to convict the killer. Only 60 minutes remain until the killer comes back to his apartment.

Blood Lust is a very well-designed room with a slightly creepy atmosphere. Everything in this room fits the theme well. The furniture and puzzles were of high quality and it was obvious what could be taken apart or off the walls and what could not. Also, it was remarkable that any hidden compartments could not be spotted. Things were hidden or incorporated in the inventory so well that you could not tell that, later, they would come off or open.

The presented background story combined with the atmosphere created inside the room made us feel quite immersed. There was background music and dimmed lights making it very believable that we were scavenging through someone else’s apartment looking for clues. In addition, the room holds some surprises that add to the immersive feeling.

The puzzles varied in difficulty as well as in style. There were a lot of puzzles in this room which were overall very well designed and fun to solve. Some of the puzzles required team work while others could be solved in parallel.

This is a well-designed room with great atmosphere which we really enjoyed. There were a lot of unexpected surprises and a great selection of puzzles. We played with three people which is the minimum for this room. It was definitely doable, but we think it might be more fun with 4-6 people. Experienced players who like a challenge should definitely check this room out!
