Since its opening, Omescape has always held the reputation of being one of Toronto’s best escape room companies for their set designs, tech, and surprising use of room space. These strengths have made them a fan favourite and even account for 2 rooms on my personal top 10 list! On the other hand, Omescape has also been known to fall short with customer service & the pre-room experience. Customers often comment on how rushed they feel in and out of the rooms. The staff also neglect to socialize with customers and instead choose to socialize with fellow staff or bury their heads in i-devices.

Would this continue to be a pattern in our second visit? Yes, the very same. We were greeted at the door by a large crowd of people who were being rushed in or out of their rooms, while a group of 3-4 staff were huddled amongst themselves behind the desk, and the atmosphere was a bit hectic and lacking crowd control. Once we entered the room however we were treated to the same quality we’ve always known Omescape to have: impressive set design, great tech, and a few surprises within the room along the way. One particular noteworthy aspect of this room is the continued storyline from Mysterious Study (feel free to check out our review to gain more context). I enjoyed how they concluded the story, and for those of you like me, the storyline matters!

The puzzles were challenging but not impossible, and there was sufficient immersion to make one feel excited in the moment. The main question of course is would we recommend this room? Yes! Absolutely… with a couple caveats: first, make sure you bring a good mixture of skilled veteran and new players. The room isn’t easy, and even with my “ace” team we fell a few tasks short of escaping. And second, make sure you try Mysterious Study first so you don’t end up seeing the conclusion of a very good storyline before you’re exposed to the first half…

As always, happy escaping!

Final Verdict:

7.9/10
