After being accused of stealing 1 million dollars, we were thrown into prison. With the investigators out of the office we had a small window of opportunity to free ourselves. Could we make it out in time?

I usually feel pretty lucky to be an escape room reviewer. It’s fascinating for me to examine the game design, plus I get to share my experience with you! Today, however, I’m heartbroken, as our experience at this escape room was rather disappointing. Sometimes being a reviewer means that I have to be critical of companies. I hope that from evaluations like this, we can grow and further strive to provide customers with a quality experience. After all, every escape room is a work in progress.

One thing I look for is consistency throughout my experience with a company. While that usually means closely examining the puzzles and story, in the case of The Great Redemption, I’m talking marketing. The overall quality of this room was poor. It pains me to see when a company puts more effort into their website and marketing than their actual attraction. I should mention, the promotion video on the website is NOT even for this room.

The room was built in an office space with little thematic decoration. We definitely did not feel like we were in jail. While the theme was pretty average, the gameplay was (to be frank) a bore. With so little to keep us occupied, as a player it was hard to remain enthusiastic. The puzzles were not “balanced” as they say on their website, but there were too few and were too easy.

Needless to say, I do not recommend this game to anyone who has played an escape room before. First-time players would still have fun, and potentially young players as well. For the rest of us, spend your money elsewhere.

Final Verdict:

4.6/10
