It’s hard to miss the big, green question mark that adorns the windows of The [?] Adventure building. It catches both the attention and curiosity of passers-by, and the staff of this escape room business were more than willing to answer any and all questions. The front counter cannot be missed upon entering the building, and it was fantastic to see business cards from other escape room businesses in the area. It gave us a sense of an escape room community, rather than competition.

After taking a seat in the waiting area, our host came to explain the situation that we were about to be placed in. It seems that she needed some help discovering her “daughter’s” secrets, and we’d been called upon to help. We enjoyed how our host set the scene for us, though she slipped in and out of character, though this may have been because we were reviewers and she was wanting to answer our questions as a business representative rather than the parent in The Parent Trap. Nonetheless, we were anxious to begin our sweep of the room.

The setting was quite simple: a bedroom. There were a number of design pieces to indicate that it was a young woman’s bedroom, though more embellishments or a ceiling of standard height would have worked to increase the feeling of immersion. Although I must admit that there was a moment during a task when I felt like a huge creep for being in this girl’s room… ANYWAYS…

We found that the room flowed very well. From the start we were able to latch onto the puzzles, and were able to work on a couple at a time. Only towards the end did we all work on the same task, and part of this was a unique puzzle that definitely demonstrated the love and innovation of the creators for their creation.

This escape room was definitely FUN! The story is fun, the technology is innovative, and the clue system is unique. I can honestly say that this is one of the only rooms I’ve been to where they requested that a team member KEEP a cell phone with them. All-in-all an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this room to those of you new to escape rooms, and I would challenge the more experienced of you to beat our time!

Final Verdict:

7.1/10
