If you’ve read any of our other reviews about Omescape you’ll see a recognizable pattern: rough to average customer service & pre-room experience, great room quality, impressive surprises, and lots of excitement until you end and you’re rushed out the door (thank you come again)…

The Dark Altar promised to be the same. We started off the same way, we noticed the same things, and then we entered the room and… huh? What happened here? It’s as if The Dark Altar was the neglected child forced to live in the family basement while the other children were raised in luxury. It wasn’t bad, but the noticeably average and unimpressive set design was a huge surprise to us! We kept thinking this is part of a buildup that will change our perception by the game’s end. Sadly, it didn’t happen. The puzzles were pretty good, the immersion was ok, but the room quality? Well it was… average.

So would I still recommend this room? Yes, but I have to note that with the prices customers are paying, The Dark Altar should be your last choice in rooms at Omescape because you deserve more.
